The Wave Books Poetry Bus Tour

Stopping at 50 cities in 50 days, the Wave Books Poetry Bus Tour is the biggest literary event of 2006. Beginning September 4 and ending October 27, over one hundred poets, along with musicians, filmmakers and journalists, will participate as the bus traverses North America, bringing innovative poetry to big cities and small towns across the U.S. and Canada. Sponsored by Wave Books, the poetry bus will go more places with more poets reading more poems than was ever previously believed possible.

This is great I’ll be on the road ‘thumbing’ a lift as you head towards new York ;-)

Poetry is something that people turn to for solace and celebration, especially the poets ! so this is a great idea to highten awareness.

    Good Luck with the tour.

    Regards

I’m sad that you’re not coming to NH. I think you should drop North Hampton, MA and do North Hampton, NH. We’re near Phillips Exeter Academy, UNH and great beaches. Don’t you think the poetry bus at Hampton Beach sounds like fun?

    Fellow Poets,

I am a Hudson Valley NY poet who hosts 3 popular reading series in Orange and Ulster County and often read in Beacon NY as part of the Calling All Poets Series at the Howland Cultural Center. I want to to sign up to read with you when you arrive in Beacon NY at the Dia in October. Please let me know. I plan on being there and bringing local poets with me. robertmilby@hotmail.com

Your idea for a national tour is much needed in a land where poetry is no longer important in schools.

You’ve had very little local publicity in Richmond, VA but we’re working on getting the word out NOW!!

This is very exciting- the local poets will be out in force to support you!!!

Strong and sober times of old
    Walking, creeping towards inner time
    Small cravings across the land
Wondering, thinking till time has come
    Feelings amongst those of old
    Haunted now and structured future
    Scent of ranched tyranny
    Fill the air
    Touch of gold left behind
    Growing pains and slender bliss
    Crying lower beneath the skin
Tears pouring, listening to all was done
    Nothing comes or goes
    Nothing seems to change
    All is still the same
