Dara Wier
Dara Wier’s books include 2005’s Reverse Rapture (Verse Press), a book length poem in nine-line stanzas in nine-stanza pieces. In fall 2006 Wave Books will bring out Remnants of Hannah, Wier’s tenth book. Other recent books are Hat On a Pond (Verse Press, 2003) and Voyages in English (Carnegie Mellon, 2001). Her work has been supported by fellowships and awards from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the American Poetry Review. She directs the MFA program for poets and writers at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and along with Noy Holland and Lisa Olstein co-directs the University of Massachusetts’ Juniper Initiative for Literary Arts and Action.
