Melanie Noel
Melanie Noel is a poet and lives in Seattle. Her work with poetry and sound includes “Partsong” (2003), a collaborative installation created with musicians (Ollie Glatzer and Rob Millis), a visual artist (Elizabeth Jameson), other writers, and a choreographer. In 2005 she was awarded a grant by artist and curator Kristin Tollefson to participate in “Collocations,” a group installation with ten other artists, including Perri Lynch. Artists were asked to respond to the social and environmental degredation at a Washington superfund site. For the installation she created “ghostrain,” an extended poem she printed on the inside of small handsewn vellum lanterns and strung throughout the site.
